Moreno
Panozzo
Moreno Panozzo was born in 1963.
When he was
a young boy, he stood out for his
remarkable gifts and natural sensitivity
and passion towards art in general,
and ‘in primis’ for
the world of painting and drawing.
We do not know when he started his
artistic activity because, since young,
he tried any type of material: from
iron to wood, from clay to paste.
He achieved the present expressive
forms starting from studying, from
the experience gained in the architecture
field, and more from the love for the
design thanks to which he was appreciated
by the world of entrepreneurs, which
he deals with everyday.
During his
life, Moreno Panozzo has never abandoned
the world of art that has always
been his favorite subject to investigate
in his everyday work, in his individual
and social relationships, in the
collection of others’ works
of art, in his travels and their wise
arrangement, as he nearly wishes to
reach his self-consciousness by all
means.
Moreno Panozzo, who in his job
as designer, was able to combine beauty
with functionality and rationality
of solutions, a man of the future,
an aesthete par excellence, inevitably
withdrew, thus obeying passion, in
the ‘silentium’ of his
painting.
He began his research route
by trying several techniques among
which the engraving, that is to say
the primitive sign, the ‘scratch’ on
the canvas, in order to finally reach
the mixture of closed cells on which
he was able to create, by using pigments
and fibers in an exemplary way, his
geometric structures, the labyrinths,
his reticular cells of thought, the
shelters.
Moreno
Panozzo, who stands out for quickness
in his everyday life and calculates
time in moments, decided to make
a step backwards in time, in order
to search for the peace that all
of us lost a little bit.
He discovered ‘otium’ as
a new basic unit in order to examine
deeply the inner life of the person,
the peacefulness as a source of growth,
the development of the personality
that multiplies ideas.
He chose loneliness, he made it an
ideal inspiring muse, from which a
type of painting comes out that only
particularly sensitive men may catch
in all its essence.
He started
his creative route by trying several
techniques on canvas and panel. About
this you can see the production from
1992 to 1997, with works such as “Strappi 1992”(tears),
where it looks like he wants to show
all his wish for research and test,
not only in the use of materials and
techniques, but also in the matching
of colors and in the themes dealt with.
These are the years when the artist
is continuously questioning himself:
he does, undoes, does again, being
not satisfied of the just finished
work, he sets it aside in order to
take it again afterwards and recreate
it obstinately, in order to give it
again, stubbornly, an original look
and a new life.
The works
of the 1997-1999 three-year period
are also polychromatic. By analyzing
his engraving technique, we have the
impression that in this period the
author is focusing on the primitive
sign, on the scratch, first on the
canvas, then on petroleum panels. These
compositions are thus entitled ‘Graffiti’ (graffito
works).
In the 2000-2002
two-year period, in ‘Impronte 2000’ (prints)
there are two colored paintings from
which new matching processes, unusual
relieves, new volumes, and also monochromatic
warps come out, in order to prove the
deep metamorphosis that involved Panozzo’s
works in all this time.
“Trace 2002”, instead,
are all strictly monochromatic, a mixture
of painting and sculpture, thus confirming
the clearness of the plastic language
he acquired as well as the new artist’s
ideas and geometries. Fiber balls melt
in his hands, they are molded and shaped
in order to become a new material moving
frenetically, new ‘intellectual
windows’, new openings towards
the system of planets, cosmic dialogue,
that is to say ‘new communication’.
So, in ‘Tracce 2002’, the
level of experimentation and the achieved
expressive form are such that the artist
may harmoniously mold the surfaces,
may proportionally shape the materials,
thus making Panozzo’s painting
more and more orderly.
In his last
project, “Luce 2003
(light)”, more and more ordered
relieves stand out, as well as new
wefts with skilful strokes, new shapes
of matter and color. In these works
of art, the artist underlines and shows
his completely achieved ability in
shaping and creating different relieves
by means of monochromatic paintings
or new color matching, thus communicating
and materializing any emotional estate
or achieved knowledge of his.
Light openings and geometries where
we can plunge into in order to find
the absolute space, to free our minds,
to give space to imagination.. ...
to nourish the soul of his audience.
