The
Inner Perspective…
This work is a
collective process of unconscious imagery. It is an impression of my
recorded unconscious thoughts, through hypo-training
and dream analysis. Most of our knowledge,
skills and attitudes and training seems to
be based on the idea of conscious learning.
However the reality is that unconscious
learning takes place anyway, but in an unplanned
manner.
The following work
is an on-going investigation into the influences
of everyday life and the media on my unconscious. It’s
a semi-spontaneous response to remembered
images of the unconscious mind.
The colourful diverse
textural surfaces are loose and unordered. No
brushes are used in the foreground; instead
I use a pouring and running technique. This
allows abstract forms and images to emerge
and melt in the imagination. Ultimately,
I’ll produce work that is a form of
escapism from reality. I would like
to think that when looking at this work the
viewer would, (for
just a second or two)
feel immersed in another colourful abstract
dimension.
I started working
on this project in February ’03
and it continues.
