Bernard Lipkin

My art is personal. The way I paint is truly the product of what affected me
as I went through life.

Born in NYC, growing up through the "Great Depression" and serving as a
flyer in WW2 profoundly influenced what and how I paint.

I drew and composed art work from a very early age. After intensive art
education at various schools and colleges, I became at first an illustrator
and then a textile designer and stylist. Fine art was something I did through the years and it became my final goal.

My art work is of people in various settings and my work is an unusual
composition of color, form and emotion; a new and inventive expressionism.
Although very personal, it appeals to not only the eye but also to human
emotions. My work is a relief from the gimmicky surface decoration of much
of today's art.
